then I start adding the other feathers to form the wing. I add them in 2 to 3 layers to give it more detail.

And here it is, my finished wing, with two layers of feathers added to it. You can always keep the detail of the feathers simple or add more fuzz to the feathers, to give it more of an illustrated look. =)
